I am a mixed media artist who uses texture to enhance strong lyrical lines and to express a whimsical and unconventional approach to sacred art. I have been creating art since I was a young child, but I had a come to Jesus moment shortly after coming into the Catholic Church in 2010, when God called me to paint Saints. I refused because of my insecurities and unworthiness… who was I to paint a Saint after all?!
Soon after this “no thank You to God” I developed a blindness in my right eye that doctors were unable to diagnose and which prevented me from painting. I felt his inner prompting to ask St Lucy, the Patron Saint of eyes for help and miraculously, within weeks, my eye was healed! I started to paint icons immediately after and they continue to teach me about healing, mercy, and virtue.
Sacred places, the road less traveled, and the lives of the Saints have influenced my work over these last 11 years and I’m eternally grateful for God’s unique love of each soul…
we are all TRU-ly Original.
